I can recommend 'Songs Of Praise' or 'Nancy Sing Me A Song' from that brilliant album.Ģ - Day And Age by The Killers. Some of it has echoes of what was to become ELO when that project got started. I bought quite a few new (to me) albums in 2008 but the two that stand out are -ġ - Boulders by Roy Wood, actually recorded in the 1960's but held back for many years by his then record company in case it interfered with sales of his other albums. Singalong/Karaoke - I am I said - Neil Diamond (please play for Del and Drew because "LA's fine" and their singing is not!) I don't feel like dancing - Scissor Sisters Sad Eyes - Springsteen ("Here you come all dressed up for a date") My Hometown - Springteen - "In '65 tension was running high at my high school") Sexcrime (Nineteen Eighty-Four)- EurythmicsĤth Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) - Springsteen Independence Day - Gretchen Peters or Carrie Underwoodĭecember, 1963 (Oh What A Night) - the 4 Seasons Happy to endorse Joethejamman's suggestion of Valentines Day by Steve Earle Hang on - Isobel Campbell and Mark Laneganīest "old album" purchased on CD - Silk Degree by Boz Scaggs (play Lido Shuffle?)įavourite new CD in 2008 - Magic by Springsteenīest musical experience of 2008 - Springsteen, live in Cardiff (it would be good to hear anything from the encore :Jungleland, Thunder Road, Born to Run, Rosalita, American land) A few thoughts for the week ahead:īest "discovery" from GIO - Martha by Tom Waits LWDown to be strict - also responsible for me discovering the most wonderful
